StayUnico’s Pick of the Month: La Bomba de Tiempo

Every Monday, tourists and local after-work crowds start to swell at the corner of Sarmiento and Anchorena St. There’s a special energy in the air and you can start to hear some drums in the distance, in anticipation for one of BA’s most unique parties.

StayUnico’s Pick of the Month: La Bomba de Tiempo

La Bomba de Tiempo or simply La Bomba is a percussion show that has been in the city’s DNA for over a decade. It takes place every Monday at Centro Cultural Konex and is often described as the best international party spot in the city. Think festival meets concert and toss in a real laid-back atmosphere.

The 15+ musicians behind this acclaimed band are responsible for making over 1500 people dance and jump around in each show, while the bar located in the back of this  warehouse-like building sells drinks to cater all tastes and allows some mingling between the crowds while they cool down.

The event starts at 7 with a special guest handling the opening act, and lasts until 10 pm, with La Bomba taking the lead as from 8 pm. The band is proud of their improvised style and incorporates world beats including Central American and African rhythms, samba and Argentine folk beats.
